Celebrating Local Food & Local Farms

Farm to Fork 2020 Cancellation &
ways you can help

Dear Farm to Fork Friends,

We hope that you and your families are safe and healthy during this difficult time.

We are sorry to share that in light of the COVID-19 crisis, we have decided to cancel the Farm to Fork Picnic this June. Over the past thirteen years, the Farm to Fork community has helped to drive the incredible growth of our local food movement. During this critical time, even without the opportunity to celebrate local food in person, we hope you'll join us in supporting the many restaurants, farms and food businesses that have kept our local food scene thriving for so many years.

Difficult times need to bring out the best in our movement, and we can prove it true by supporting the many initiatives that are currently underway to support local restaurants, farms, food businesses, and restaurant workers. We understand that not everyone has the ability to donate extra funds at the moment, but if you do, here are some suggestions we hope you'll consider:

Support the local food movement

Support the chefs/restaurants, farmers, artisans and beverage purveyors who have participated in the Farm to Fork Picnic. You can view a full list of Farm to Fork participants by location here. Some restaurants are still offering curbside takeout and delivery and others you can support by purchasing a gift card or promoting them on social media. Many farmers are offering direct CSAs or continuing their sales at farmers markets. Please join our #FarmtoForkFridays social media campaign by tagging the restaurants, farms, or food artisans you’re supporting and sharing what dishes you’ve enjoyed!

Make a donation to restaurant workers

By donating to the Restaurant Workers Relief Fund you can lend a hand to so many of the restaurant workers in our community who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Buy gift cards on RallyforRestaurants.com

Buy gift cards from local restaurants and challenge your friends to join and share #RallyforRestaurants.

Find local farms selling pasture-raised meat on MeatSuite.com

Join the NC 10% Campaign Challenge

Purchase at least 10% of your food from local farmers, local food delivery services, restaurant take-out, and local grocers and co-ops. Find local farmers and food businesses at nc10percent.com.

Again, we are sorry that we won't be able to celebrate together this year and hope you will join us for future Farm to Fork events!

Thank you!
